Heute ist der letzte Tag des Jahres und ich bin noch rechtzeitig mit meinem Review der OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection fertig geworden! Ich bin damit natürlich fürchterlich spät dran, weil Weihnachten ja schon vorbei ist, aber ich hoffe, ihr findet meinen Review mit den vielen (!!!!!) Bildern trotzdem unterhaltend! Immerhin ist die Kollektion in den Geschäften ja noch erhältlich 🙂 Der heutige Post enthält die Creme/Crelly-, Schimmer- und Glitterlacke. Die Liquid Sands müssen bis 2014 warten 😉

Today is the last day of the year and I have OPI’s Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection to share with you! Of course I am terribly late with the review since Christmas lies already behind us but I hope you don’t mind and enjoy my swatches and review anyway! The collection is still available in stores after all 🙂  Today I am showing you the cremes/crellys, shimmers and glitters. The Liquid Sands have to wait until 2014 😉

In My Santa Suit

In My Santa Suit ist ein klassisch roter Schimmerlack mit leicht pinkem Farbeinschlag, der in manchen Winkeln sichtbar wird. Die pinken Untertöne unterscheiden den Lack von ähnlichen Farben wie beispielsweise OPI Danke-shiny Red. In My Santa Suit deckt bereits mit der ersten Schicht. Ich finde, der Name des Lackes passt perfekt zu der Farbe 🙂 Konsistenz und Auftrag waren außergewöhnlich gut. Mir ist auch aufgefallen, dass der Lack erstaunlich schnell trocknet. Ich trage 2 Schichten inklusive Top Coat.

In My Santa Suit is a classic red shimmer bearing a slight pink hue that flashes at some angles. The pink undertones set the polish apart from similar shades like OPI Danke-shiny Red. The name fits this color perfectly 🙂 It was already opaque in 1 coat and had an amazing formula and application. I also noted the excellent drying time. You’re looking at 2 coats plus top coat.

All I Want For Christmas (Is OPI)

All I Want For Christmas (Is OPI) ist ein tiefroter, kühler Crellylack – das klassische Weihnachtsrot 🙂 Er ist etwas dunkler und weniger leuchtend als auf den Bildern. Der Lack ist eher dünnflüssig und man muss aufpassen, dass er nicht in Richtung Nagelhaut verläuft. Auch nach 2 Schichten ist er noch ein kleines bisschen durchscheinend – allerdings sieht man das nur, wenn man sehr genau schaut. Das Finish ist super glänzend, stumpft aber nach der ersten oder zweiten Stunde nach dem Auftragen etwas ab. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

All I Want For Christmas (Is OPI) is a cool-toned deep red crelly – your classic holiday red 🙂 It is slightly darker and less brighter than my pictures suggest. The polish is a little bit runny, so beware of cuticle flooding. After 2 coats you can still see a faint visible nail line – but only on VERY close inspection. Although it bears a high-gloss shine at the finish it starts to dull a little one or two hours after application. I am wearing 2 coats plus top coat.

Cute Little Vixen

Cute Little Vixen ist ein dunkler magentaroter Schimmerlack. Er ist OPI Embarca-Dare Ya! aus der San Francisco Collection sehr ähnlich, aber deutlich dunkler und geht farblich stärker in Richtung violett. Wenn ich mich zwischen den zwei Lacken entscheiden müsste, würde ich mich ohne Nachzudenken für Cute Little Vixen entscheiden. Die Farbe hat ein wunderschönes, tiefes Leuchten! Der Lack hat für mich die perfekte Konsistenz – weder zu dünn- noch zu dickflüssig. Nach dem Auftragen sind auf dem Nagel leichte Pinselstriche sichtbar. Cutte Little Vixen deckt beinahe vollständig mit der ersten Schicht. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Cute Little Vixen is a gorgeous deep magenta shimmer. It is very similar to OPI Embarca-Dare Ya! from the San Francisco Collection but clearly darker and more purple-leaning. If I had to pick one I would definitely go for Cute Little Vixen because of its deep vibrant shade! The polish has a perfect formula – neither runny nor too thick. I found it to be slightly brush-stroky. It is nearly opaque with the first coat. I am wearing 2 coats plus top coat.

Underneath The Mistletoe

Underneath The Mistletoe ist ein rubinroter Jellylack mit rosa und silbernem Mikroglitter. In der Flasche hat mir dieser Lack zuerst nicht besonders gefallen, aber auf den Nägeln sieht er echt toll aus! Er hat ein eher stumpfes, beinahe mattes Finish, man muss also in jedem Fall Top Coat auftragen, um das fruchtige Leuchten hervorzubringen. Ich trage 3 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Underneath The Mistletoe is a deep ruby jelly with pink and silver micro glitter. I did not really care for this one in the bottle but once on the nail it blew me away! The polish dries to a dull, almost matte finish, so top coat is mandatory to bring out the gorgeous fruity glow. You are looking at 3 coats plus top coat.

Sleigh Ride For Two

Sleigh Ride For Two ist ein dunkler, pflaumenfarbener Schimmerlack. Man sieht in der Flasche einen wunderschönen, schleierhaften rosa Schimmer, der aber zu meiner großen Enttäuschung auf dem Nagel überhaupt nicht sichtbar ist 😦 Dennoch ist die Farbe sehr schön. Der Lack deckt beinahe mit der ersten Schicht und das Auftragen hat super funktioniert. Ich trage 2 Schichten inklusive Top Coat.

Sleigh Ride For Two is a deep plum shimmer. Looking at the bottle the polish has an outstanding pinkish dusty shimmer to it but, to my great disappointment, it did not transfer onto the nail 😦 The color is still very pretty though. It is opaque by the first coat and application was amazing. You’re looking at 2 coats plus top coat.

Visions Of Love

Visions Of Love ist ein Crellylack in einem tiefdunklen Burgunderrot. Während die erste Schicht noch leicht transparent ist, deckt der Lack mit der zweiten Schicht vollständig mit einem brillant glänzenden Finish. Das Auftragen war problemlos. Ich reiß mich nicht besonders um dunkle Farbtöne wie diesen, aber für Liebhaber von Chanel’s Rouge Noir ist Visions of Love die perfekte Alternative 🙂 Ich trage 2 Schichten inklusive Top Coat.

Visions Of Love is a deep brownish burgundy crelly. While the first coat is still a little transparent the polish gets entirely opaque with the second. It has a high-gloss shine at the finish. I had no issues at all with application. I’m not that into this kind of vampy shade (shame on me!) but if you love Chanel’s Rouge Noir then Visions Of Love was made for you 🙂 I am wearing 2 coats including top coat.

Warm Me Up

Warm Me Up ist ein kühler, brauner Schimmerlack, der leicht in Richtung Taupe/Grau geht. Es ist eine wirklich einzigartige und schicke Farbe. Leider hat sie mir in der Flasche besser gefallen als auf dem Nagel und ich könnte gar nicht sagen, warum 😦 Vielleicht muss ich den Lack einfach noch einmal ausprobieren! Er hat sich problemlos auftragen lassen. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Warm Me Up is a cool brown shimmer that is slightly taupe/gray-leaning. It is a truly unique and sophisticated color. Unfortunately I liked it a tiny bit more in the bottle than on the nail. It somehow fell flat on me, don’t know why 😦 I might have to give it another try! Formula and application were flawless. You are looking at 2 coats plus top coat.

All Sparkly And Gold

All Sparkly And Gold ist ein dunkelgoldener Glitterlack mit superfeinen goldenen, quadratischen Glitterpartikeln – hab grad einen Makro-Shot in der Vergrößerung analysiert 😉 Ich liebe diesen Lack! Er schaut super aus und das dunkle, in Richtung Bronze gehende Gold gefällt mir ganz besonders gut. Konsistenz und Auftrag waren perfekt. Ihr seht auf den Bildern 3 Schichten plus Top Coat.

All Sparkly And Gold is a dark gold glitter polish with ultra fine gold, square glitter – I just magnified and analyzed a macro shot 😉 I am totally in love with this varnish! It looks absolutely gorgeous and the dark bronze-leaning gold is right up my alley. Formula and application were perfect. This is 3 coats including top coat.

My Favorite Ornament

My Favorite Ornament ist ein hellgoldener Glitterlack mit einer Fülle an feinen, goldenen ‘Glitterscherben’. Er ist so voll mit Glitter, dass er schon mit der ersten Schicht beinahe deckend ist. Ich will ehrlich sein, mir gefällt der Lack überhaupt nicht. Ich kann mit dem hellgoldenen Farbton nichts anfangen. An Konsistenz und Auftrag war aber nichts auszusetzen. Der Lack ist in keiner Weise zu dick- oder zähflüssig wie man aufgrund der Riesenmenge an Glitter erwarten könnte. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

My Favorite Ornament is a light silvery gold glitter polish densely packed with tiny gold glitter shards. It is almost opaque by the first coat. I want to be honest here, I do not like the polish at all. Light gold apparently isn’t my color (wasn’t aware of that). I had no issues with formula and application though. The polish is in no way gooey like you could expect from the amount of glitter. I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat.

Wonderous Star

Wonderous Star ist ein Glitterlack mit feinen, silbrig goldenen/platinfarbenen ‘Glitterscherben’ (eine Spur dunkler als in My Favorite Ornament) und schwarzen, sechseckigen Glitterpartikeln. Obwohl mir My Favorite Ornament gar nicht gefällt, mag ich Wonderous Star umso lieber! Ich liebe die Kombination mit schwarzem Glitter. Ich finde, das macht den Lack einzigartig und gibt ihm das gewisse Etwas. Wonderous Star enthält nicht soviel Glitter wie My Favorite Ornament und deckt auch nach 3 Schichten noch nicht vollständig, aber das stört mich gar nicht 🙂 Das Auftragen hat wie auch bei den anderen Lacken der Kollektion super funktioniert. Ich trage 3 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Wonderous Star is a clear base filled with silvery gold/platinum fine glitter shards (a tiny bit darker than in My Favorite Ornament) and black hexagonal glitter. Although I don’t like My Favorite Ornament I really, REALLY like Wonderous Star! I love the black glitter in it – gives it that certain something and makes it unique. It is not that densely glitter packed, so even after 3 coats it wasn’t fully opaque but I love it nonetheless 🙂 Formula and application were again flawless. This is 3 coats plus top coat.

Ski Slope Sweetie

Ski Slope Sweetie ist ein milchig transparenter Schimmerlack mit einem wunderschönen goldenen Glitzern. Die Konsistenz war hier etwas dicker und man muss aufpassen, dass man die einzelnen Schichten nicht zu dick aufträgt. Auf den Bildern trage ich 3 Schichten inklusive Top Coat.

Ski Slope Sweetie is a sheer milky base with a beautiful gold shimmer. The consistency of this polish was a little thick. I had to pay attention not to apply too thick coats. I am wearing 3 coats plus top coat.

I Snow You Love Me

I Snow You Love Me ist ein (zu) dicker, transparenter Lack mit großem, rundem Holographik-Glitter, der den Eindruck dreidimensionaler Strasssteine vermittelt. Der Lack ist definitiv nicht dafür gemacht, wie ein normaler Lack aufgetragen zu werden, weil das würde mit einer dicken Lackschicht ohne Glitter oder, wenn man sehr viel Glück hat, einem Glitterstück enden. Man muss den runden Glitter mit einem Dotting Tool oder ähnlichem einzeln auf dem Nagel platzieren. Ich empfinde den Lack als ziemlich unnötig, obwohl mir das Ergebnis meiner Maniküre hier sehr gut gefällt. Auf den Bildern seht ihr I Snow You Love Me aufgetragen über In My Santa Suit.

I Snow You Love Me is a (too) thick base with large round holographic glitter that give the imagination of three-dimensional rhine stones. This polish clearly isn’t meant to be applied the usual way because you would end up with a thick coat of base and no glitter, one glitter piece if you are lucky. You have to place the glitter separately with a dotting tool or something similar. I really don’t care for this polish but I think I made the best use of it. I like the result. I am wearing I Snow You Love Me over In My Santa Suit.

Insgesamt gefällt mir die Kollektion ganz gut – obwohl sie nicht an die Skyfall Collection des letzten Jahres heranreicht 🙂 Ich wünsche euch allen eine tolle Silvesternacht und Alles Gute für 2014!!

Overall I like the collection – although nothing compares to last year’s Skyfall Collection 🙂 I wish you all a great New Year’s Eve and all the best for 2014!!
