Im heutigen Post zeige ich OPIs diesjährige Frühjahrskollektion: die OPI Brazil Collection! Die Kollektion besteht aus 12 Lacken und es ist ein Mix aus knalligen Sommerfarben und raffinierten Nude-/Taupe-Tönen. (Darüber hinaus hat OPI als Teil der Brazil Collection noch ein Mini-Set mit Liquid Sands herausgebracht – siehe meinen Post darüber hier!) Ursprünglich habe ich vorgehabt, diese Kollektion völlig auszulassen, weil mir die Werbebilder im Vorfeld nicht besonders zugesagt haben und mir die Farbauswahl irgendwie zu einfach/langweilig vorgekommen ist. Als ich allerdings die ersten Reviews gesehen habe, habe ich meine Meinung geändert 🙂

Today I have the OPI Brazil Collection to show you! It consists of 12 lacquers and it’s a mix of bright vivid colors and sophisticated neutrals. (In addition there’s a mini set of liquid sands available which I showed in this post!) I originally planned to skip this collection as a whole because I somehow did not like the promo pics and the colors seemed too straight forward aka boring to me but after seeing the first reviews I changed my mind 🙂

I Just Can’t Cope-acabana ist ein leuchtend gelber Cremelack. Die Konsistenz war etwas dickflüssig, aber das Auftragen problemlos. Ich liebe diese Farbe und freue mich schon sehr darauf, den Lack im Frühjahr und Sommer zu tragen! Ich habe 2 Schichten plus Top Coat aufgetragen.

I Just Can’t Cope-acabana is a gorgeous bright yellow creme. It was a little patchy but application was ok. I really love this color and I’m looking forward to actually wearing it instead of just swatching it! I applied 2 coats plus Top Coat.

Where Did Suzi’s Man-go? ist ein helloranger Cremelack. Ich liebe die Farbe, aber leider nicht die Konsistenz des Lacks. Er ist mir zu dickflüssig und deckt etwas fleckig. Außerdem sind auf einigen Nägeln Blasen entstanden. Obwohl der Lack dem ersten Einruck nach gute Deckkraft besitzt, habe ich 3 Schichten (plus Top Coat) gebraucht, um ein gleichmäßiges Finish zu bekommen.

Where Did Suzi’s Man-go? is a light orange creme. I adore the color but I don’t like the formula at all. It’s too thick and patchy for my taste. It also bubbled on me. I applied 3 coats (plus Top Coat) because I could still see bald spots after 2.

Kiss Me I’m Brazilian ist ein leuchtend rosa Cremelack. Rosa ist meine Lieblingsfarbe und dieser Lack ist absolut perfekt für mich! Die Konsistenz ist mir etwas dickflüssig vorgekommen, aber ich habe keine Probleme beim Auftragen gehabt. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Kiss Me I’m Brazilian is a bright, almost neon bubble gum pink. Pink is my favorite color and I can tell you that this polish is perfection for me! The formula was a little thick but I didn’t have issues with application. This is 2 coats plus Top Coat.

Toucan Do It If You Try ist ein in Richtung Orange gehender, korallenfarbener Cremelack. Der Auftrag war ok. Er deckt mit 2 Schichten, allerdings habe ich nach einer ersten dünneren Schicht eine zweite dickere gebraucht um alle Unregelmäßigkeiten auszugleichen. Der Lack färbt leicht. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Toucan Do It If You Try is a bright orange leaning coral creme. Application was ok. You can get it opaque with 2 coats. After I applied a first thin coat, I needed a second thicker coat. Otherwise there would still have been some faint bald spots. It is slightly staining upon removal. This is 2 coats including Top Coat.

Live.Love.Carnaval ist ein leuchtender korallenfarbener Cremelack. Er geht stärker in Richtung Pink als Toucan Do It If You Try. Konsistenz und Auftrag waren sehr gut. Der Lack deckt perfekt mit 2 Schichten, die ich hier auch aufgetragen habe, wie immer mit Top Coat.

Live.Love.Carnaval is a bright medium true coral creme. It leans more towards pink than Toucan Do It If You Try. I liked the formula and had no issues with application. It covers perfectly with 2 coats which I applied in the pics (including Top Coat).

Red Hot Rio ist ein strahlend roter, fruchtiger Jellylack. Der Lack hat eine perfekte Konsistenz und trägt sich quasi von alleine auf. Er verteilt sich schon mit der ersten, leicht transparenten Schicht vollkommen gleichmäßig auf dem Nagel. Selbst wenn man schon einige rote Lacke hat (wie wir alle), würde ich den Kauf dieses Lacks empfehlen. Ich trage 2 Schichten plus Top Coat.

Red Hot Rio is an absolutely perfect, bright red with a jelly-like formula. Consistency and application are perfection. It’s slightly translucent with the first coat but already completely even. The color is super vibrant and juicy looking. Even if you already owned several red polishes (which we all do) I would still recommend getting this one 🙂 I’m wearing 2 coats including Top Coat.

Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around ist ein Cremelack in einem hellen, graurosa Nudeton. Der Auftrag war ok. Leider hat der Lack auf einigen Nägeln ziemlich heftig Blasen geworfen. Ganz ehrlich hat mir die Konsistenz ähnlicher Farbtöne aus vorangegangen OPI Kollektionen (wie My Very First Knockwurst, My Vampire Is Buff) deutlich mehr zugesagt. Ich habe 2 Schichten inklusive Top Coat verwendet. Hier findet ihr meinen Vergleich mit My Very First Knockwurst!

Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around is a very pale nude creme with taupe undertones. The application was good. Unfortunately it bubbled quite heavily on some nails 😦  I honestly liked the formula of nude(-ish) colors from previous OPI collections (like My Very First Knockwurst, My Vampire Is Buff) much better. I used 2 coats including Top Coat for the photo. Check out my comparison to My Very First Knockwurst!

Taupe-less Beach ist ein heller, taupe-farbener Cremelack mit graulila Einschlag. Das Auftragen war ein bisschen mühsam für mich. Zuerst war der Lack zu dünnflüssig und im nächsten Augenblick schon zu dickflüssig. Selbstnivellierend war er nur während der ersten zwei Sekunden. Vereinzelt sind leider auch hier Blasen auf den Nägeln aufgetaucht. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat. Hier mein Vergleich mit Berlin There Done That 🙂

Taupe-less Beach is a light, grayish taupe creme with lilac undertones. I had some difficulties with application. At first it was very runny and then it quickly became patchy. It was only self-levelling in the first 1 or 2 seconds. The polish also bubbled on some nails out of nowhere. This is 2 coats with Top Coat. Check out my comparison to Berlin There Done That 🙂

I Sao Paolo Over There ist ein taupe-farbener Cremelack mit lila Untertönen. Der Lack lässt sich toll auftragen und ist vollkommen selbstnivellierend. Mir gefällt I Sao Paolo Over There besser als OPI You Don’t Know Jacques, der dunkler ist, stärker in Richtung Braun geht und nicht den schönen lila Einschlag hat, der in I Sao Paolo Over There eingefangen ist. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

I Sao Paolo Over There is a purple leaning taupe creme. Application was flawless and the polish is totally self-levelling. I like it better than OPI You Don’t Know Jacques which is darker and more brown/khaki leaning and misses the beautiful lilac undertones that are captured in I Sao Paolo Over There. I’m wearing 2 coats plus Top Coat.

Next Stop … The Bikini Zone ist ein violetter Duochrome-Lack, dessen Farbe in manchem Winkel zu grau wechselt. Der Farbwechsel ist nicht besonders stark. Der Lack ist ziemlich durchsichtig und ich habe 3 Schichten für volle Deckkraft gebraucht. Das Auftragen hat optimal funktioniert. Der Lack trocknet zu einem leicht stumpfen Finish und es waren deutliche Pinselstriche zu erkennen. die allerdings zu meinem Erstaunen mit 1 Schicht Top Coat vollständig verschwunden sind. Ich liebe den Lack in Kombination mit den Taupenuancen der Kollektion! Hier seht ihr meine Ombre-Maniküre dazu 🙂

Next Stop … The Bikini Zone is a purple to gray duo-chrome. The color shift is not very strong in this polish. The consistency is rather sheer but I like the formula and application was very easy. I reached full opacity with 3 coats which you can see in the pic. The polish dried a little dull and I was left with quite visible brushstrokes. To my great surprise they completely vanished with a simple layer of Top Coat. I love this polish in combination with the taupe shades of the collection! Check out my ombre manicure 🙂

OPI Scores A Goal! ist ein braunroter Cremelack mit violettem/burgunderfarbenem Einschlag. Es ist eine wirklich schöne und außergewöhnliche Farbe. Der Auftrag war sehr gut und mit 2 Schichten deckt der Lack vollständig. Ihr seht hier 2 Schichten plus Top Coat.

OPI Scores A Goal! is a brownish plum/raisin creme. It’s a lovely and unique color. I had no issues with this polish whatsoever. Application was very easy and I reached full opacity with 2 coats. As always I applied Top Coat.

Amazon … Amazoff ist ein wunderschöner, türkisgrüner Lack mit einem ganz zarten Schimmer. Die Konsistenz war sehr gut und das Auftragen einwandfrei. Leider färbt der Lack ziemlich stark. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Amazon … Amazoff is a really beautiful teal leaning green with a soft shimmer. It has a very good formula. Application was flawless. Unfortunately I found it to be very staining. This is 2 coats including Top Coat.

Im Gegensatz zu anderen Reviews, die ich bis jetzt gelesen habe und die die Konsistenz der Lacke in den höchsten Tönen gelobt haben, bin ich der Ansicht, dass die Cremelacke aus vorangegangen OPI-Kollektionen im Allgemeinen eine deutlich bessere Qualität gehabt haben. Mir ist die Konsistenz einiger Lacke dieser Kollektion einfach zu dick und sie lassen sich dadurch wesentlich schlechter auf dem Nagel verteilen. Trotzdem gefällt mir die Kollektion als Ganzes sehr gut und ich bin froh, dass ich sie mir zugelegt habe 🙂

Unlike some other bloggers who highly praised the formula of the polishes of this collection I’m of the opinion that the creme polishes of previous OPI collections in general had a better consistency. Several polishes of the Brazil Collection are too thick and patchy for my taste (unless otherwise specified) and I really had a hard time spreading them evenly. But I still like the collection as a whole and I am glad that I got it 🙂
