Heute zeige ich euch die neue China Glaze City Flourish Spring Collection. Ohja, ich habe mir noch eine weitere Kollektion gekauft. Zu meiner Verteidigung kann ich aber sagen, dass ich die letzten zwei China Glaze Collections Autumn Nights und Happy HoliGlaze vollständig ausgelassen habe! Manchmal verdächtige ich mich selbst, Nagellackkollektionen nur deshalb zu kaufen, um meinen eigenen Review und vor allem meine eigene Collage der ganzen Kollektion machen zu können. Als gäbe es nicht schon genug Reviews und Bilder im Internet! 😉

Today I have the new China Glaze City Flourish Spring Collection to show you. Yes, I got myself yet another collection. But in my defense I should mention that I entirely skipped on the last two China Glaze Collections Autumn Nights and Happy HoliGlaze! Sometimes I suspect myself of buying a collection for the sole purpose of being able to make my own review and, most importantly, my own collage of the entire collection. As if there weren’t enough reviews and pictures out there! 😉

Es wurde bereits viel geschrieben über die angeblich schlechte Konsistenz und das seltsam halbmatte Finish der Pastell- und Neonfarben dieser Kollektion. Bis zu einem gewissen Grad stimme ich zu. Der Auftrag war tatsächlich nicht besonders gut, die Lacke verteilen sich nicht gut und sind nur selbstnivellierend, wenn man sie SEHR zügig aufträgt. Aber nachdem ich so viele negative Reviews gelesen habe, ist mir irgendwie die Fähigkeit zur Bildung einer eigenen, klaren Meinung abhanden gekommen. Manche Lacke habe ich schon öfter verwendet und einmal ist mir das Auftragen mühsam vorgekommen und beim nächsten Mal eigentlich ganz ok oder auch umgekehrt. Mit Sicherheit kann ich jedenfalls sagen, dass drei Schichten Lack und eine gute Schicht Top Coat alle Probleme lösen.

There has been a lot of talk about the supposedly awkward formula and the semi-matte finish of the pastels and neons of this collection. To some extent I agree. Application of some polishes is definitely not the best and they apply patchy and unevenly. But after having read so many bad reviews of the collection I feel so completely biased that I’m just not able to finally make up my mind about the formulas. Some of the polishes I already used more than once and one time I found the application annoying and the next time it felt quite alright to me or the other way around. I can say with certainty though that 3 coats of polish and a good layer of Top Coat solve all issues.

Spring In My Step ist ein babyrosa Cremelack. Obwohl die Farbe nicht außergewöhnlich ist, hat sie mir auf den Nägeln ganz besonders gut gefallen. Sie gibt den Nägeln einen subtilen Look und passt super zu meinem Hautton. Der Lack hat die zu Beginn erwähnte, seltsame Konsistenz. Mir ist aber vorgekommen, dass sich dieser Lack besser auftragen lässt als die anderen Pastellfarben der Kollektion. Ich trage 3 Schichten plus Top Coat.

Spring In My Step is a true baby pink creme. While there is nothing very special about the color I liked it a lot on my nails. The polish made for a very soft and sweet look and it’s super flattering on my skin tone. It has this weird formula as mentioned at the beginning, however, I got the (totally unreliable) impression that this polish was fairly well to apply. This is 3 coats including Top Coat.

At Vase Value ist ein babyblauer Cremelack mit leicht türkisem Einschlag. Ich war überrascht wie leuchtend und frisch die Farbe ist. Sie gefällt mir sehr gut auf den Nägeln. Aufgrund der Pastellfarbe hat auch dieser Lack die nicht besonders gute Konsistenz. Das Auftragen habe ich aber halbwegs ok gefunden (oder war ich positiv beeinflusst von der schönen Farbe??). Ihr seht hier 3 Schichten mit Top Coat.

At Vase Value is a turquoise leaning baby blue creme. I was pleasantly surprised how vibrant and fresh this color was. I liked it a lot on my nails. Being a pastel color this polish has the slightly patchy, matte drying formula. Application was manageable in my opinion (or was I just positively influenced by the lovely color??). I’m wearing 3 coats plus Top Coat.

In A Lily Bit ist ein blasslila Cremelack. Er hat ebenfalls die etwas seltsame Konsistenz mit dem stumpfen Finish. Die Farbe gefällt mir nicht so gut wie Spring In My Step und At Vase Value. Sie wirkt auf mich eher wie ein eingefärbtes Weiß anstelle einer richtigen Farbe. Ich trage 3 Schichten inklusive Top Coat.

In A Lily Bit is a very pale lilac creme. Again I encountered the difficult formula that comes with the dull finish. I don’t like the color as much as Spring In My Step and At Vase Value. It seemed to me more like a stained white instead of a real color. I used 3 coats plus Top Coat.

Lotus Begin ist ein lila Cremelack und praktisch eine Farbnuance dunkler als In A Lily Bit. Das Auftragen war wieder etwas schwierig. Obwohl mir normalerweise lila Lacke sehr gut gefallen, hat mich diese Farbe nicht besonders beeindruckt. Ich mag wohl lieber kühlere Lilatöne wie zum Beispiel OPI You’re Such A Budapest. Ich trage 3 Schichten plus Top Coat.

Lotus Begin is a lilac creme and basically a shade darker than In A Lily Bit. Formula was again kind of difficult. I wasn’t too excited about the color although I usually really like lilac polishes. I think I am more into cooler-toned lilacs like OPI You’re Such A Budapest. I used 3 coats with Top Coat.

Peonies & Park Ave ist ein annähernd neonfarbener, kühl rosa Cremelack. Bei Tageslicht hat der Lack definitiv Neonqualitäten, während er unter künstlichem Licht wie ein normaler rosa Lack aussieht. Die Konsistenz war eine der schlechtesten dieser Kollektion. Die erste Schicht war noch halbwegs problemlos, die zweite und dritte Schicht allerdings richtig mühsam. Der Lack verrinnt zuerst viel zu schnell, wird im nächsten Moment aber schon patzig und das Verteilen funktioniert kaum mehr. Ich erinnere mich, wie ich mir gedacht habe, dass dieser Lack allein ohne Top Coat niemals existieren könnte. Die Farbe finde ich trotzdem toll 🙂 Für ein gleichmäßiges Finish habe ich 3 Schichten aufgetragen und natürlich habe ich nicht auf Top Coat verzichtet.

Peonies & Park Ave is a bright, cool-toned kind of neon pink creme. In daylight this is definitely a neon color but under artificial light it turns into a normal medium pink. This polish was one of the worst application-wise. The first coat was still ok but the second and third were annoying. The polish was runny at first, then immediately became gooey and there was no self-levelling at all. I remember myself thinking that this polish couldn’t exist without Top Coat. The color is gorgeous though. I had to apply 3 coats to get an even finish and of course I didn’t skip Top Coat.

Petal To The Metal ist ein warmes, leuchtendes Pink (Neonpink?) in Cremekonsistenz. I habe ihn gerade mit China Glaze Neon & On & On aus der letztjährigen Sunsational Collection verglichen und die zwei Lacke sind beinahe identisch. Petal To The Metal ist eine ganz kleine Spur gedämpfter. Aber ich kann euch versichern, dass niemand auf den Nägeln ernsthaft einen Unterschied erkennen würde, nicht einmal ein Nagellackfreak wie ich. Das Auftragen war wieder etwas mühsam, weil der Lack für meinen Geschmack zu schnell trocknet. Ich trage 3 Schichten inklusive Top Coat.

Petal To The Metal is a bright, warm pink that borders on neon. I just compared it to China Glaze Neon & On & On from last year’s Sunsational Collection and the two polishes are almost identical. Petal To The Metal is a tiny bit dustier in the bottle. But I assure you that no one could ever really tell the difference on the nails, not even a polish freak like me. It applied rather patchy and dried too fast for my taste. I used 3 coats including Top Coat.

Metro Pollen-tin ist ein in orangestichigem Gelb gehaltener Cremelack. Ich habe ihn bereits zweimal verwendet. Das erste Mal habe ich nur einen einzigen Finger damit lackiert und das Auftragen hat mir nicht wirklich Probleme bereitet. Beim zweiten Mal habe ich den Lack auf der ganzen Hand geswatcht und ich habe die Konsistenz als wirklich mühsam empfunden. Hmm … naja 🙂 Wenn einem die ungewöhnliche Farbe gefällt, würde ich den Kauf trotzdem empfehlen. Ich persönlich war ein bisschen enttäuscht, dass mir die Farbe nicht so gut gefallen hat wie ich ursprünglich angenommen habe. Ich trage wieder 3 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Metro Pollen-tin is an orange leaning yellow creme. I used this polish twice. The first time I only painted one nail and I had no major problems with application. The second time I actually swatched it and this time the formula bothered me a lot. Yeah … well 🙂 If you really liked the color, which is fairly unique in my opinion, I would recommend buying the polish anyway. Personally, I was a little disappointed that I didn’t like the color as much as I thought I would. Again, this is 3 coats including Top Coat.

Grass Is Lime Greener ist ein frischer, hellgrüner Cremelack. Die Konsistenz ist wiederum dieselbe wie bei den anderen Pastelllacken der Kollektion. Ich trage 3 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Grass Is Lime Greener is a light lime green creme. Formula is the same like all pastels in this collection. The color is beautiful but not that special. This is 3 coats plus Top Coat.

Strike A Rose ist ein rosaroter Schimmerlack mit einer exzellenten Konsistenz. Er deckt vollkommen gleichmäßig in 2 Schichten und trocknet zu einem schön glänzenden Finish, das auch ohne Top Coat auskommen würde. Der Schimmer ist sehr dezent, aber trotzdem immer sichtbar. Ich glaube, dass die Farbe so ziemlich allen Hauttönen schmeichelt. Für mich ist Strike A Rose die perfekte, klassische Frühlingsfarbe: lebhaft und gleichzeitig sehr weich in der Wirkung. Gefällt mir super! 🙂 Ihr seht 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Strike A Rose is a rose colored shimmer. This polish has a very good formula! It covers evenly in 2 coats and dries to a beautiful shiny finish that wouldn’t even require Top Coat. The shimmer is very subtle which I like. I think this is a super flattering color for pretty much all skin tones. In my opinion it is the perfect, classic spring color: bright yet somehow soft. Love this one! 🙂 I’m wearing 2 coats plus Top Coat.

Thistle Do Nicely ist ein korallenfarbener Neonlack. Er ist ein Schattierung dunkler als Petal To The Metal. Thistle To Nicely ist der leuchtendste Neonlack, den ich je gesehen habe! Die Farbe eines Leuchtstifts könnte auch nicht strahlender sein. Der Neoneffekt wirkt unter absolut jeder Beleuchtung. Das Auftragen war ok. China Glaze hat in den letzten Jahren schon einige sehr ähnliche Farbtöne herausgebracht wie z.B. Pink Plumeria oder Flirty Tankini, und ich vermute Flip Flop Fantasy ist ebenfalls sehr ähnlich (FFF habe ich selbst nicht). Aber es stört mich überhaupt nicht, mehr als einen Neonlack dieser Art zu haben 🙂 Ich trage 2 Schichten plus Top Coat.

Thistle Do Nicely is a stunning neon coral creme. It is one shade darker than Petal To The Metal and the brightest neon polish I have ever seen! Not even a marker pen could be brighter. It glows in absolutely all lighting situation. Formula was ok. We have already seen similar shades from China Glaze like Pink Plumeria or Flirty Tankini, and I suppose Flip Flop Fantasy is also very close (last one’s a guess as I don’t have FFF). But I don’t mind having more than one of this kind of awesome neon polish 🙂 I applied 2 coats including Top Coat.

Don’t Honk Your Thorn ist ein blassbeiger Schimmerlack. Die Farbe ist recht eigen und erinnert mich an Caffe Latte bzw. Milch mit einem Tropfen Kaffee 😉 Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob sie mir gefällt oder nicht. Auftrag und Deckkraft waren jedenfalls gut. Am Nagel sind leichte Pinselstriche sichtbar. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Don’t Honk Your Thorn is a very pale, cool-toned beige shimmer. The color is a little strange and reminds me of Caffe Latte aka milk with a drop of coffee 😉 I’m not quite sure whether I like it or not. Application and opacity were good. The polish is a little brushstroky. This is 2 coats with Top Coat.

What A Pansy ist ein blaulila Cremelack. Die Farbe ist wunderschön und außergewöhnlich! Die Konsistenz des Lacks ist einwandfrei, er lässt sich perfekt auftragen und deckt in 2 Schichten, die ich auch hier aufgetragen habe. Zusätzlich habe ich wie immer Top Coat verwendet, obwohl man bei dem glänzenden Finish von What A Pansy keinen benötigen würde.

What A Pansy is a purple-toned periwinkle creme. This is such a beautiful and truly sophisticated Spring color! The formula is flawless. It goes on smoothly and covers in 2 easy coats which I also applied for the picture. I added a layer of Top Coat although the polish dries very shiny on its own.
