Der Moment ist gekommen, meine wahre Identität zu enthüllen: Ich bin das Coca-Cola Girl. Ja, ihr habt richtig gelesen, DAS Coca-Cola Girl. Niemand liebt Cola mehr als ich. Und ich kann mit absoluter Sicherheit sagen, dass die Welt für mich nicht dieselbe wäre ohne Cola. Gesprochen wie ein wahrer Süchtiger. Ihr könnt euch also meine durchgeknallte Gemütsverfassung vorstellen, als ich vor etwa zwei Monaten von der bevorstehenden OPI Coca-Cola Collection erfahren habe 🙂

The moment has come to reveal my true identity to you: I am the Coca-Cola girl. Yes, you read right, THE Coca-Cola Girl. No one loves Coke more than I do. And I can say with certainty that the world wouldn’t be the same for me without Coke. Spoken like a true addict. So you can imagine my excitement when I found out about the collaboration between OPI and Coca-Cola about two month ago 🙂

You’re So Vain-illa ist ein vanillefarbener Cremelack, der von Vanilla Coke inspiriert ist. Der Auftrag war völlig problemlos. Viele Nailbloggerinnen haben sich in diesen Lack verliebt, aber obwohl er mir auch gut gefällt, war ich nicht so wahnsinnig davon beeindruckt. Jedenfalls ist es ein praktischer, neutraler Farbton. Vielleicht muss ich ihn einfach noch einmal ausprobieren 🙂 Ich habe 2 Schichten mit Top Coat verwendet. Hier findet ihr meinen Vergleich mit OPI My Vampire Is Buff!

You’re So Vain-illa is a nude vanilla creme shade inspired by Vanilla Coke. I had no issues with application whatsoever. A lot of nail bloggers fell madly in love with this polish but although I also like it I wasn’t too impressed. It is a great neutral nevertheless. Maybe I just have to give it another try 🙂 This is 2 coats plus Top Coat. Here you can find my comparison to OPI My Vampire Is Buff!

Sorry I’m Fizzy Today ist ein warmer, zuckerlrosa Cremelack, der ebenfalls inspiriert ist von Vanilla Coke. Die erste Schicht war ziemlich streifig und nach der zweiten Schicht hat man noch ganz leicht auf manchen Nägeln unregelmäßige Stellen erkennen können. Darum habe ich eine dritte Schicht aufgetragen, aber nur, wo es nötig war. Ansonsten hat das Auftragen gut funktioniert. Sorry I’m Fizzy Today ist eine hübsche, jugendliche Farbe, aber sie hat mir auf meinen Nägeln nicht so gut gefallen, wie ich ursprünglich gedacht habe. Wie immer habe ich Top Coat aufgetragen.

Sorry I’m Fizzy Today is a warm candy pink creme and also inspired by Vanilla Coke. It was streaky with the first coat and there were very faint bald spots after the second on some nails. So I applied a third coat but only where needed. Otherwise application was fine. It’s a pretty, girly color but I didn’t like it on me as much as I thought I would. As always I applied Top Coat.

Get Cherried Away ist ein warmes Violett in Crelly- oder sogar Jelly-Konsistenz. Der Lack ist unzweifelhaft von Cherry Coke inspiriert. Unter künstlichem Licht verliert der Lack den pinken/violetten Ton und sieht aus wie ein schlichtes Dunkelrot. Generell mag ich Lacke nicht besonders, die zu stark die Farbe ändern bei unterschiedlichen Lichtverhältnissen. Der Lack ist sehr dünnflüssig und egal, wie vorsichtig ich ihn aufgetragen habe, er ist mir immer wieder über den Nagel hinaus verronnen. Ihr seht hier 2 Schichten plus Top Coat. Nächste Woche werde ich Get Cherried Away mit OPI Casino Royal und In The Cable Car-Pool Lane vergleichen 🙂

Get Cherried Away is a red-toned purple crelly or even jelly. It draws its inspiration from Cherry Coke. Under artificial lighting it loses completely its pink/purple hue and looks more like a dark red which I found a little weird. In general I don’t like polishes that change too much their appearance in different lighting situations. The polish was quite runny and no matter how much attention I paid to application it kept flooding my sidewalls. You’re looking at 2 coats including Top Coat. Next week I will compare it to OPI Casino Royal and In The Cable Car-Pool Lane 🙂

Orange You Fantastic! ist ein orange-getönter, transparenter Lack, der gefüllt ist mit orangem Glitter. Ganz offensichtlich ist der Lack von Fanta inspiriert. Ihr seht hier 2 Schichten außer auf dem Ringfinger, wo ich 1 Schicht Orange You Fantastic! über einen orangen Untergrund aufgetragen habe. Der Lack trocknet ziemlich rau, weshalb ich noch zwei großzügige Schichten Top Coat verwendet habe. Mir gefällt der Lack deutlich besser alleine, weil er leicht gute Deckkraft erreicht und das Glitzern des Glitters so auch viel tiefgründiger wirkt. Orange You Fantastic! ist ein lustiger und fröhlicher Lack, der super in den Sommer passt 🙂 Und jetzt zum schrägen Teil: Der Lack ist in Europa nicht erhältlich, stattdessen wird der orange Cremelack Orange You Stylish! verkauft. Mir geht hier völlig die Logik dahinter ab. Es sagt ja fast aus ‘Europa ist noch nicht reif für zuviel Glitter’ (wenn es überhaupt irgendetwas aussagt …). Wenn ihr eine sinnvollere Erklärung habt, bitte teilt sie mit mir.

Orange You Fantastic! is an orange hued translucent polish with tons of orange glitter. Obviously it is inspired by Fanta. You see 2 coats except on my ring where I applied an orange base with 1 coat of Orange You Fantastic. It dries very bumpy so I added 2 generous layers of Top Coat. I clearly prefer this polish on its own as it builds up nicely anyway and it gives the look way more depth. I was really surprised that 2 coats were enough! It’s a fun and happy polish that screams summer to me 🙂 And now to the weird part: This polish isn’t sold in Europe, instead there is an orange creme called Orange You Stylish!. I am totally missing the logic behind this. It somehow says ‘Europe isn’t ready for too much glitter’ (if it says anything at all …). If you have a better explanation please enlighten me.

A Grape Affair ist ein dunkelvioletter Cremelack, der inspiriert ist von Fanta Grape. Er deckt beinahe vollständig mit der ersten Schicht und trocknet zu einem brillant glänzenden Finish. Konsistenz und Auftrag waren einwandfrei. Ich kann diesen Lack wirklich empfehlen. Die Farbe ist toll! Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

A Grape Affair is a deep moody purple creme that is inspired by Fanta Grape. It’s quite opaque with the first coat and it bears a brilliant finish even without Top Coat. Formula and application were flawless. I can totally recommend this polish. The color is so deep and beautiful! I applied 2 coats with Top Coat.

Today I Accomplished Zero ist ein schwarzer Jelly-Lack mit roten Glitterpartikeln. Der Lack ist ganz klar inspiriert von Coke Zero 🙂 Genauso wie bei Orange You Fantastic! reichen auch hier 2 Schichten aus für volle Deckkraft. Das Auftragen war allerdings etwas mühsam, weil der Lack eine eher zähflüssige Konsistenz hat und sich deshalb schlecht am Nagel verteilen lässt. Zuerst habe ich mit dem Pinsel nicht wirklich den gesamten Nagel erreicht und als das endlich geklappt hat, habe ich mit dem Pinsel fast jedes Mal auch gleich den Seitenwall des Nagels berührt, was die Überflutung desselben nach sich gezogen hat. Wenn ich den Lack das nächste Mal verwende, werde ich ihn über einen schwarzen Basislack auftragen, weil dann fällt es nicht auf, wenn ich mit Today I Accomplished Zero nicht alle Ecken des Nagels erreiche. Der Lack trocknet wiederum sehr rau. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit 2 großzügigen Schichten Top Coat.

Today I Accomplished Zero is a black jelly filled with red glitter particles. It is clearly inspired by Coke Zero 🙂 Just like Orange You Fantastic! this also builts up really nicely and 2 coats were enough for full coverage. I had some issues with application though. The polish is quite gooey and it was a little challenging for me to cover the entire nail. When I finally managed it, I almost always touched the sidewalls with the brush as well which resulted in massive flooding. Next time I will apply it over a black base because if I don’t reach every corner of the nail with Today I Accomplished Zero then it will not show. The polish also dries very bumpy. I applied 2 coats plus 2 generous coats of Top Coat.

My Signature Is DC ist ein toller silberner Schimmerlack. Der Auftrag war absolut perfekt. Man hat völlige Kontrolle über den Pinsel und kann den Lack daher wunderbar auf dem Nagel verteilen. Das Finish ist ganz leicht streifig, was allerdings niemand sehen wird außer man selbst. Ich trage 2 Schichten. Auf Top Coat habe ich verzichtet, weil er mir überflüssig vorgekommen ist. Bei diesem Lack gibts auch wieder etwas Schräges: In Europa heißt er Turn On The Haute Light, weil Diet Coke hier ja Coca-Cola Light heißt und viele die Abkürzung DC im Namen nicht verstehen würden. Man hätte natürlich auch einen völlig anderen, für alle Länder gleich geeigneten Namen verwenden können, aber bitte …

My Signature Is DC is a true silver foil and inspired by Diet Coke. Application is perfection. You have complete control over the brush. The finish is slightly brush-stroky but no one will ever see it beside yourself. I applied 2 coats and no Top Coat here as I found it superfluous. Weirdness factor: In Europe this polish is called Turn On The Haute Light because Diet Coke is called Coca-Cola Light here and most people wouldn’t get the DC reference. One could have chosen a completely different name that was suited for both the US and Europe but ok …

Green On The Runway ist ein von Sprite inspirierter Duochrome-Lack, dessen Farbe von grün zu braun wechselt. Ich habe erwartet, dass ich diesen Lack mehr mögen würde. Anscheinend habe ich vollkommen vergessen, dass mir Duochrome-Lacke generell nicht besonders gut an mir gefallen und dieser hier ist leider keine Ausnahme. Aber wenn man Duochromes mag, ist Green On The Runway sicherlich einen näheren Blick wert 🙂 Auftrag und Deckkraft waren gut. Im Finish lassen sich leichte Pinselstriche erkennen. Ich habe 2 Schichten mit Top Coat verwendet.

Green On The Runway is a green to brown duo-chrome. This polish is inspired by Sprite. I expected to like it a lot more than I actually do now. Apparently I had forgotten that I don’t like duo-chromes on me in general and unfortunately this one is no exception. But if you’re into duo-chromes this is a nice one 🙂 Application and opacity were good too. It was only a little brush-stroky. I used 2 coats plus Top Coat.

Coca-Cola Red ist DER perfekte rote Cremelack. Wir haben vermutlich alle schon viel zu viele Rottöne zu Hause, aber das hier, DAS ist Coca-Cola Rot!!!!! Also ja, diesen Lack braucht man einfach im Leben 🙂 Als ich ihn geswacht habe, ist mir aufgefallen, wie selten ich eigentlich rote Lacke trage, weil mir meine Nägel in rot richtig unbekannt und beinahe außergewöhnlich vorgekommen sind. Ich habe mich gefühlt wie jemand, der sein ganzes Leben lang Rot getragen hat und plötzlich zu einer anderen Farbe greift, nur eben umgekehrt 😉 Die Konsistenz war sehr gut und der Auftrag war einwandfrei. Ich trage 2 Schichten mit Top Coat.

Coca-Cola Red is THE perfect red creme. We probably all have way too many reds but this, guys, THIS is Coca-Cola Red!!!! So yes, you need it in your life 🙂 When I swatched the polish I realized that I almost never wear red polish because it felt so unusual seeing my nails in red – wonderfully unusual though. I felt like someone who has always worn red and suddenly picks another color, just the other way around 😉 Formula was really good and it applied well. This is 2 coats including Top Coat.

Ich finde es ganz toll, dass OPI und Coca-Cola für diese Kollektion kooperiert haben und ich liebe Coca-Cola Red über alles. Trotzdem muss ich leider sagen, dass mich die Kollektion als Gesamtes nicht vom Hocker gerissen hat. Die einzigen Lacke, die ich in absehbarer Zeit wieder tragen möchte, sind A Grape Affair (wird super im Herbst!) und natürlich Coca-Cola Red … vielleicht auch noch My Signature Is DC. Was sagt ihr zu der Kollektion? Habt ihr euch den einen oder anderen Lack gekauft?

I absolutely love that OPI and Coca-Cola teamed up for this collection and I am head over heals for Coca-Cola Red. However, as much as I regret saying this, the collection as a whole falls flat on me. The only polishes that I feel like wearing again in the near future are A Grape Affair (will be gorgeous in fall!) and of course Coca-Cola Red … maybe My Signature Is DC as well. What are your thoughts on this collection? Did you pick up any of these?
