Chanel hat schon so viele schöne Lacke herausgebracht, doch selbst bei Chanel können Unzulänglichkeiten vorkommen. Und ich habe einen Beweis: Chanel Black Pearl.
There are so many lovely Chanel polishes out there. But even Chanel has its shortcomings. And today I have proof for you: Chanel Black Pearl.
Chanel Black Pearl ist ein graugrüner Perlmuttlack, der im Frühjahr 2011 gemeinsam mit den Lacken Pearl Drop und Pêche Nacrée herausgekommen ist. Damals habe ich mir nur Pearl Drop und Pêche Nacrée gekauft. Später habe ich mich darüber geärgert, Black Pearl nicht auch gekauft zu haben und ich habe ihn im Nachhinein auch nirgends mehr finden können. Doch ein Freund von mir hat es geschafft, Black Pearl zu ergattern und hat ihn mir zu meinem letzten Geburtstag geschenkt. Ich habe mich wahnsinnig gefreut! Und schließlich ist der Tag gekommen, an dem ich den Lack ausprobiert habe und Du.Lieber.Himmel sieht er hässlich aus auf den Nägeln!!! Ich habe mich bemühen können, soviel ich wollte, überall auf den Nägeln waren Pinselstriche zu sehen und dann ist das Schlimmste überhaupt passiert: bevor ich schnelltrocknenden Top Coat auftragen habe können, hat der Lack Blasen geworfen. Ihr seht es ein bisschen auf dem Mittelfinger. In dem Versuch, mich irgendwie an den Lack zu gewöhnen, habe ich ihn einen miserablen Tag lang getragen. Es hat nicht geholfen. Black Pearl ist für mich hässlich geblieben. Was meint ihr dazu? Habt ihr den Lack selbst mal ausprobiert? Ich finde ihn in der Flasche so toll, aber auf den Nägeln ist er für mich ein einziger Alptraum!
Chanel Black Pearl is a pearlescent greenish grey shimmer which was released as part of the Spring 2011 Collection together with the polishes Pearl Drop and Pêche Nacrée. At the time I bought only Pearl Drop and Peche Nacrée. Later on I regretted not having gotten Black Pearl as well and unfortunately I couldn’t find it anymore. Lucky me, a friend of mine snatched it and gave it to me as birthday present. I was over the moon! Then I finally tried it and oh my god it was so ugly!!!! No matter how hard I tried, nasty brush strokes were everywhere and then the worst thing happened: before I could apply fast drying top coat it started bubbling which you can see a little bit on my middle finger. I left the polish on for one miserable day in an attempt to get used to it but it didn’t help. I still hated it. What’s your opinion on this polish? Have you ever tried it? Don’t get me wrong, I really love it in the bottle but once on the nails it’s just a huge nightmare for me!

I actually think it looks okay! But that may just be because you have gorgeous nails that make any color look good! I’m sorry it was such a nightmare for you. That is the worst, especially ehen you have such great hopes for a polish.

…I am so cool…I just teared up.
This polish actually sparked my nail polish obsession. I bought this and Pearl Drop at the same time but unfortunately Pearl Drop looked AWFUL on me…I rescued and re-rescued and re-re-rescued Black Pearl over and over again until I could no longer salvage it and I had to say goodbye (thankfully I had used at least 3/4 of the bottle by this time). And, for whatever reason, I did not purchase it while it was on the Chanel website’s “discontinued favorites” page. And now it’s gone. And I am sad.

Oops, sorry forgot to mention about the formula and such…I never had trouble with it (except towards the end) it is definitely on the thick side but it went on nicely within 2 coats and last quite a few days without chipping on me! It would be such a shame if you got a bad bottle because it really is an amazing amazing polish (in my opinion, ha!)

Ok, I should definitely give it another try! Because I also love it in the bottle! This might also have to do with a personal problem that I have with some kind of shimmers. If a polish has too much of this pearly shimmer it tends to highlight each and every misguided curve on my nails and there’s nothing worse for me …

There were some bubbles and I guess I just don’t like pearlescent shimmer on my nails – I feel like it brings out the worst in them …

Yes, exactly! I just hope that the friend who gave it to me didn’t spend a lot of money! But he is a very skilled bargain hunter, so I guess we’re good there 🙂
