Today I have swatches of the OPI Venice Collection Fall 2015 to share with you! The collection consists of 12 main shades and 3 limited edition shades (btw I don’t understand this classification since I thought that seasonal collections were as a whole ‘limited’ anyway …). I’m gonna show you the main 12 polishes today! It’s a collection of stark contrasts. The color palette ranges from an almost white to a shimmery black. We also find reds and a great mix of neutrals in it. Let’s get into the swatches! 🙂
A Great Opera-tunity is a dusty peach creme. I love this one! It’s so subtle and delicate. This kind of color works great all year round. Application was good. 2 coats + Top Coat
Amore at the Grand Canal is a cool red creme. It’s a classic fall color: rich and vibrant, yet a little toned down. It’s a bit darker in real life then my picture lets on. I had no issues with application, however, it stained my cuticles really badly. They had a reddish tint for days! 😦 2c + TC
Be There in a Prosecco is a cream colored off-white. In a previous post I compared it to OPI My Vampire is Buff. Formula was nice and I got it opaque after 2 coats. I think this polish is a great staple and I’m happy to have it in my collection. 2c + TC
Gelato on My Mind is an aquamarine creme. It was a little streaky on the first coat and evened out after applying a thicker second coat. This color seems to be most out of place in this fall collection. It’s pretty though 🙂 I will not wear it now in fall but maybe around Christmas in combination with some sparkle! 2c + TC
Gimme a Lido Kiss is a bright red shimmer with a faint flash of pink. Unfortunately it stained my cuticles just like Amore at the Grand Canal 😦 In direct lighting I could see a lot of brush strokes which kind of ruined the polish for me. I’m just so tired of seeing OPI releasing one brush-stroky polish after another (e.g. Rollin’ in Cashmere, This Silver’s Mine, This Color’s Making Waves). Formula was good though. 2c + TC
I Cannoli Wear OPI is a grayish off-white creme. Check out my comparison to OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls here! Just like Be There in a Prosecco, this polish is another great staple! Opacity/formula was not as good as I wanted it to be. The first coat went on streaky. On some nails I managed to get it opaque in 2 coats, but on other nails I had to add a third coat to even everything out. 2 to 3 coats + TC
It’s A Piazza Cake is a burnt orange creme. It’s my favorite of the collection because it’s fall in a bottle for me 🙂 The consistency was a little bit runny on the first coat. Otherwise the application was fine. 2c + TC
My Gondola or Yours? is black with very subtle shimmer. At first I was excited that OPI included a black polish in the collection, but I was disappointed after trying it. I’m not a big fan of this kind of shimmer. It only comes out in direct lighting but then you also see brush strokes. I wish OPI would have given us a black creme one-coater instead 😦 Application was good. 2c + TC
O Suzi Mio is a deep eggplant creme. It’s very dark and can be confused for a black in dim lighting. It’s not really my thing, but that’s just a personal preference 🙂 Once again, I would feel different about it if it was a one-coater, but you definitely need 2 coats for full opacity. 2c + TC
Purple Palazzo Pants is a lavender creme. It is very similar to OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender, just a tiny bit more blue-toned. I like this shade a lot and application was flawless! I guess I will wear it in spring 🙂 2c + TC
Tiramisu for Two is a rosy nude creme. Another great neutral in this collection! It’s perfectly opaque in 2 coats. It was a little bit runny on the first coat, but nothing major. 2c + TC
Worth a Pretty Penne is a rose gold foil. I like this one a lot! It’s a lovely alternative to your typical silver and gold foil. Application was nice and it was pretty much opaque in 1 coat. I recently used Worth a Pretty Penne in combination with I Cannoli Wear OPI in a half moon manicure! 2c + TC
That’s it! 🙂 I think it’s a nice collection and I’m very happy about the variety of neutrals. However, I’m quite disappointed in the darker colors, especially My Gondola or Yours?. I was so excited about the inclusion of a black polish, but I just don’t care about this faint-shimmer-yet-brush-stroky kind of black. What’s your opinion on the collection? Any favorites? Thanks so much for watching 🙂

Thanks so much! So sweet of you! Unfortunately my reviews are always kind of late because I’m not a power swatcher like some other nail girls 🙂 I usually get exhausted after swatching 3 or 4 polishes in a row!
